Preparing for Summer Gardening: Key Lessons Learned

1–2 minutes

With our first farm stay right around the corner, we’ve made the call to wrap up the indoor projects. The window garden and the Solo Cup Farm served us well, but right now, managing our time and energy is the priority.

We’re clearing the decks and shifting fully into summer garden mode. The window plants are being harvested or composted to make room for the next round of starts. Even the Aerogarden is being cleaned and tucked away for the season.

It was a winter of learning. Our cucumbers put on a show with beautiful flowers every morning, but they never quite crossed the finish line into actual fruit. Even with daily hand pollinating, the indoor setup had its limits. Still, those lessons are going straight into the soil this summer.

Often the most productive thing you can do is change your focus. We’re putting our energy where it counts the most.
